Our location is secluded enough to transport you to another time, but also just minutes from downtown Athens, Five Points, and University of Georgia. With both indoor and outdoor space, the Hardeman-Sams estate is the perfect canvas to host any event year-round.
Facilities and Capacity
255 Milledge Hardeman-Sams House can accommodate up to 200 guests over its multiple event spaces. The venue's private garden is ideal for a lush outdoor ceremony space. Their outdoor space includes a private southern garden, grassy lawn and stone courtyard. If you're having a large affair, the landscaped lawn or the historical garden is the perfect location. For more intimate weddings, the historical manor can accommodate 100 guests seated or 200 guests for a cocktail reception.

History
In 1910, Benjamin Frank Hardeman built this estate on Milledge Avenue with his wife, Annie. They were known for throwing some of the largest and most elegant parties in all of Northeast Georgia. In 1932, the property was sold to Walter A. Sams, president of the Athens Coca-Cola Bottling Company.

After months of searching, I landed on the most beautiful wedding venue in the city where the love of my life and I first met. It could not have been a more beautiful, special day and all of my guests were raving about how gorgeous 255 Milledge was. I'm so glad we happened to book this venue after their new renovations were complete, because it really elevated the grounds even more beautiful than they already were.
The staff here were beyond accommodating with all of my requests and really helped the vision of my wedding come to life. I'm especially grateful for when a few days before the wedding, my brother had to go to the hospital and they were incredibly sympathetic and were able to assist us with various needs. Thank you Kim, Bonnie, Matt, and all of the assistants on the day of for your amazing service! -

Super professional and sweet and the venue is absolutely stunning! From the historical house to the beautiful garden and grounds! The photographer was able to amazing shots both indoors and out! If I had the opportunity to redo my wedding, I would have chosen this charming venue! Thank you again for everything ladies!
