Wine vs. Burgundy

I am sure this has been discussed before, but looking for some input Smiley smile The colors my fiancé and I picked are navy & burgundy. David’s Bridal uses “wine” as their color. If my girls are in wine, but everything else we’re doing is burgundy do you think it’ll make a difference? Are they close enough that from their dresses to flowers/decorations/etc it won’t even make a difference? Thanks in advance, friends ♥️

Would love to see what you’ve picked out but I can’t see this as a problem at all. I think will be very lovely and rich looking.

I think it should be fine. You can always order a swatch and look at it next to the other outfits or decorations to see.

Literally had the same question. And my family tell me wine and burgundy are in the same color scheme. I think it should look fine. This is the dress my MOH is wearing, it’s not the same as the burgundy color we’re having for our colors tho. Wine vs. Burgundy 1

That is a gorgeous dress! And I was thinking it’ll be okay too just cause the girl’s bouquets will be more navy and white with just a touch of the burgundy, where the guys will be the ones with the burgundy flower

"Wine" and "burgundy" both invoke a rich deep red color in my mind. I think they'll probably match just fine. You could even get a swatch of the color from David's Bridal and use that to pick out your linens or anything else you're planning to have in the wine/ burgundy shade.

Focus on the actual color. Names vary wildly from one manufacturer to another so one company’s wine is another’s burgundy/berry/claret and a million variations. At the same time you can have 100 burgundy items from 100 manufacturers and no two will look alike. Guests won’t notice or care if there if there is variation or what they are marketed as.

Wine and burgundy are in the same color scheme. There will probably be small differences as wine has more purple, while burgundy has only red undertones- no blues. Ultimately it’ll come down to what you’re comfortable with and if it’s super important to you. I would order a color swatch (about $3) to compare and go from there! Smiley smile
