Complete with dazzling string lights, this delicate garden space is versatile in theme and can be decorated to suit weddings both rustic and elegant. Couples have the use of the pergola, porch, and encompassing grounds on the day of their choice to entertain guests and celebrate the new beginnings. The facility also contains tables and classic resin chairs for up to 200 people. Alternatively, those who would rather hold their celebrations within the walls of the sophisticated property can set up in the Carriage Hall and Parlor. The hall accommodates up to 300 guests and offers an old-world setting, characterized by vaulted ceilings, natural lighting, and access to traditional barn doors. Couples can use the property for ten hours on the day, as well as an additional three hours of rehearsal time. For those who plan to hold a grand celebration for all their loved ones, the entire property can be secured for a specified weekend. The mansion can also provide access to get-ready rooms so the wedding party can peacefully prepare for the big day.

History

This astonishing mansion was originally maintained in the 1800s by businessman Arabut Ludlow and his wife Caroline. Known as Idle Hour Farm, it was one of Wisconsin’s primary grand agricultural estates and demonstrated many improvements in the farming techniques of the time. Additionally, the property had a reputation for training excellent race horses and has been visited by several national horse-racing champions. The mansion was returned to its former glory by Ludlow’s granddaughter May Ludlow Luchsinger and her husband Frank in the 1930s.
